Xiaomi Smart Socket 4 launches with Wi-Fi 6, MU-MIMO and OFDMA tech, 2500W max load
Xiaomi has opened crowdfunding for a new smart plug that makes it easy to turn regular appliances into smart ones. The Xiaomi Smart Socket 4 is listed on Xiaomi Youpin for 49 yuan (around $7), with the campaign running until September 16 at 09:59:59. The regular price will be 59 yuan. It’s a compact plug aimed at people who simply want remote control and energy tracking for older devices around the house. It connects straight over Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 GHz only), so you don’t need a separate gateway. Combined MU-MIMO and OFDMA tech should keep things stable even when you’ve got a bunch of devices online at once, commands don’t have to sit in a queue.
